Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in Ojai, California. This role performs an essential function within our hospitality industry team, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions. The Staff Accountant will focus primarily on income auditing and will also handle secondary duties in accounts payable.Responsibilities: Verify the accuracy of all revenue streams, including rooms, food and beverage, and other departments Ensure prompt investigation and resolution of any discrepancies in daily sales and revenue reports Prepare daily and monthly income audit reports and summaries for review by management Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures through monitoring and auditing all payment methods, including cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment Collaborate with department heads to ensure accurate and timely recording of revenue and expenses Maintain and update income audit procedures and documentation Prepare financial statements and reports related to income auditing Assist in processing and verifying invoices for Accounts Payable Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and resolve any payment issues. Requirements Must have experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations is required Proficiency in General Ledger management Experience with Journal Entries, particularly in a hospitality context Must have experience in Month End Close processes Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential Prior experience in the hospitality industry would be advantageous Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and as part of a team Must have strong organizational and multitasking skills Professional ethics and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
