Description Our client, a mission-driven organization in the nonprofit and educational sector, is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant for a contract-to-hire opportunity. Perform general ledger accounting functions, including journal entries, month-end close, and account reconciliations.

Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.

Assist in financial statement preparation and analysis to support leadership decision-making.

Maintain the integrity of accounting data within NetSuite and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.

Support grant accounting, expense allocations, and compliance reporting for nonprofit funding sources.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial workflows and ensure operational efficiency.

Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the nonprofit or educational sector.

Proficiency in NetSuite is required.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis) are highly preferred.

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
