Staff Software Engineer - full stack (Hybrid/Onsite)

Our Click To Pay Engineering team is building the full stack solution for a unified digital payments system, used by millions of users, and shared by top merchants, payment providers, and banks. Our front-end powers multiple applications including Visa Checkout and has a global reach that spans 5 continents and 20+ countries. The technologies we use include Java, Springboot, React, JavaScript, Node just to name a few. You are just as comfortable leading teams and planning large scale technology projects, as you enjoy writing good code and supporting the execution of projects into production.Responsibilities:Develop features and improvements to the CTP product in a secure, well-tested, and performant wayCollaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders within Engineering (Frontend, UX, etc.) to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, iterative environmentProvide improvements to product quality, security, and performance.Solve technical problems of the highest scope and complexity for your team.Shepherd the definition and improvement of our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.Provide mentorship for all Engineers on your team to help them grow in their technical responsibilities and remove blockers to their autonomyRepresent C2P team and its values in public communication around broad initiatives, specific projects, and community contributions. Interact with customers and other external stakeholders as a consultant and spokesperson for the work of your team.Confidently ship large features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members. Collaborate with the team on larger projectsLead product feature teams from inception to launchKey Responsibilities Full-stack development – contribute to the design of backend DBs and queries, API creation and consumption, and contribute to front end UI development Works independently with minimal insight to develop software that conforms to Visa’s high standards of security, quality, performance, resiliency, and compliance. Takes ownership and is responsible for the design and delivery of one or more components of a project Provides oversight and guidance to team members contributing to those components Independently create multiple design artifacts for projects and present designs to team members and other stakeholders Provides mentorship and guidance to more junior team members Work with Technical Product Managers to break down solutions into smaller achievable tasks Support test engineers and operation teams in troubleshooting, defect research, issue root cause analysis, and other related activities This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office.
