Position will develop and govern architectural, interface and process solutions for a one or more products within the Leica Biosystems Imaging Solutions portfolio. The successful candidate will work closely with the Enterprise Solution Architect, Product Management, Engineering and the Strategy and Innovation teams to define the strategy to integrate a broad suite of Leica Biosystems products to achieve broader interoperability and harmonized workflows for our customers. Position will build the link between business needs and technology.Major Responsibilities Define pragmatic architectural solutions across multiple customized software systems.

Translate business requirements and roadmaps to a solution architecture in accordance with the Enterprise Architecture, appropriately described by design artefacts, including current state, transition, and future state architectures.

Supply to the development of business and technology roadmaps.

Connect with business areas to influence decision-making based on clear articulation of technical needs, opportunities, and constraints to enhance delivery of business priorities.

Identify points of integration, reusability, and other interfaces between technical solutions across the business. Define critical interfaces between software systems.

Be actively involved with both business and technical partners to analyze, resolve and provide strategic and/or tactical solutions to meet business objectives.

Drive problem solving initiatives using structured analysis to resolve root cause followed by implementation of sustainable countermeasures.

Engage and lead discussions and workshops with key technical and product partners, building and maintaining key relationships across Leica Biosystems.

Provide architectural direction and governance to Software Architects and software development teams.

Actively support program change, risk and issue management

Contribute to product safety and security risk management activities

Drive continuous improvement of Leica Biosystems’ architecture processes, methods and tools

Required Education, Experience & SkillsTertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent, with confirmed knowledge of modern solution architecture and technology frameworks and methodologies (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman, Prince2, Lean and Agile).

Postgraduate qualification or training relating to solution architecture is desirable or similar regulated industry/environment

3 years’ experience defining and leading architectural solutions including establishing reference models, standards, processes, and architectural blueprints

Strong ability to communicate architectural vision

Deep expertise and knowledge of enterprise web software, actively maintaining awareness of technology horizon

Experience with healthcare integrations and clinical workflows initiatives such as IHE, protocols such as FHIR, HL7 and/or DICOM and engines such as Mirth / NextGen Connect.

Experience developing systems in a regulated environment e.g., medical device development.

Experience in medical imaging architectures and systems, having familiarity with image management and a variety of enterprise deployment topologies such as distributed or centralized repositories, networking, and hybrid or cloud infrastructure

Strong understanding of security and privacy by design principles.

Extensive experience creating user documentation including frameworks, models and technical drawings e.g., Archimate.

Travel:Approximately 10%

Possible 4-6 times per year for items such as project meetings, training, and company-wide meetings.
