Reporting to the Sr Manager of Talent Acquisition, the Staffing Manager, Summer Camp Teams holds a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient selection and hiring of seasonal summer staff across multiple regions. You will own the summer staffing journey from application review to offer acceptance, leading the development and execution of a comprehensive staffing strategy, utilizing competency-based hiring practices to assess candidate qualifications, skills, and cultural fit. You will also be an active partner in the overall staffing strategy to ensure each location of Galileo Camps has optimum staffing levels from the first day of camp to the last.You Will Be Accountable forStaffing Strategy and ExecutionDesign and implement standard assessment and interview process to evaluate candidate qualifications, skills, and alignment with the role, using our competency-based hiring practices. Oversee the candidate assessment and selection process for seasonal summer staff roles, ensuring a seamless candidate experience that is aligned with the Galileo hiring standards.Collaborate with Field Team leaders to understand region-specific needs and develop tailored strategies to effectively fill all Summer Staff positions.Manage the candidate experience, ensuring timely communication and providing feedback to selection team members.Proactively monitor pipeline health and provide timely feedback on sourcing effectiveness to guide ongoing recruitment strategy.Identify and leverage a variety of recruiting and sourcing channels—including job boards, social media, networking, and referrals—to build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates.Lead summer staff alumni retention strategy, through an intentional hiring experience and effective year-round engagement strategies. Hold ultimate responsibility for ensuring all camps are fully staffed by hiring deadlines, monitoring progress against goals, identifying risks, and recommending adjustments to strategy or goals as needed to meet camp needs.Operational Excellence Ensure accurate and timely reporting of Staffing levels by site and region, providing visibility to camp and field leadership throughout the hiring season. Collaborate on creating cross-functional staffing tools, such as staffing spreadsheets and rosters, to ensure efficiency and ease of use.Oversee Summer Staff job offers, including consulting on offer letter templates, processing offer updates,  and ensuring a seamless handover to People Services for pre-employment and onboarding. Manage hiring processes from application review to offer, utilizing data-driven insights to maintain the quality of hires, streamline operations, and enhance efficiency.Stakeholder Engagement and CollaborationProvide regular reporting on hiring progress, milestones, and pipeline health throughout the season, ensuring visibility and accountability for staffing outcomes across regions.Partner closely with Field Operations and other cross-functional teams to align hiring efforts with operational objectives and company-wide initiatives.Foster strong relationships with hiring managers and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and mutual understanding of hiring needs, meeting regularly with field leadership to align on regional and camp level staffing needs.Collaborate with stakeholders to monitor staffing needs and challenges throughout the summer and proactively partner to ensure staff needed.Leadership and Team DevelopmentLead and develop a team of Seasonal Selection Specialists, including US based team leads and offshore agency staff, ensuring high performance through goal setting, feedback, and training.Coach interviewers and hiring managers on best interviewing practices to ensure an equitable process for all candidatesHold accountability for selection and assessment activities through the applicant tracking system, Smart Recruiters, to ensure accurate candidate records and reporting.You AreInspired by Galileo’s mission and purpose. While we prioritize work-life balance, there may be times when additional hours are necessary to meet deadlines and ensure the success of our programs. Additionally, HQ staff are expected to visit camp locations from June through August to experience camp first-hand and support our teams on the ground; 10-15% travel may be required for those located outside of a camp territory.
