We prioritize patient safety and satisfaction, and our state-of-the-art facilities reflect our dedication to excellence.We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. This role is critical to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency in our surgical environment. Key Duties and Responsibilities:Instrument Sterilization & Maintenance: Clean, decontaminate, inspect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment following established protocols.Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of sterilized items and ensure proper stock levels of surgical supplies and sterile packs.Compliance & Safety: Adhere to infection control and sterilization standards as mandated by regulatory agencies and organizational policies.Surgical Support: Collaborate with surgical staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile instruments and equipment to operating rooms.Equipment Monitoring: Operate and maintain autoclaves, ultrasonic washers, and other decontamination and sterilization equipment. Perform routine maintenance and report issues promptly.Process Documentation: Record sterilization cycles, test results, and equipment performance logs for quality assurance and compliance.Team Collaboration: Work closely with the surgical and administrative teams to support the seamless operation of the surgery center. Essential Physical Tasks:Transporting heavy instrument trays and supplies to and from operating rooms and sterilization areas.Assembling and disassembling surgical instruments with precision.Operating sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and ultrasonic washers, requiring repetitive hand movements.Performing quality control checks on instruments and maintaining meticulous records.Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the sterile processing department.Requirements: Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required.Certification in Sterile Processing (e.g., CRCST or CSPDT) preferred or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.Previous experience in sterile processing, preferably in an ophthalmology or surgery center setting.Knowledge of medical terminology, surgical instruments, and sterilization techniques.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.Excellent organizational and communication skills. Physical Requirements/Typical Working Conditions: Environment: Primarily a temperature-controlled facility. Work may require prolonged standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate surgical equipment, a keyboard, mouse, and standard office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to communicate in person, by phone, or over video. Requires occasional lifting papers or boxes up to 50 pounds. Essential Physical Tasks: Sight – sufficient to adjust small instruments, read physical documents, and images on a computer monitor. Smell – sufficient to discern smoke/something burning, and other odors. Hear – sufficient to hold face to face/telephone/video call conversations, and to discern other ambient noises. Touch – sufficient to operate surgical equipment, keyboard, mouse, other standard office equipment, and writing implements. Physical ability/strength – sufficient to lift, twist, turn, reach, climb, kneel, squat, sit, walk, stand, bend as needed throughout a standard shift.
