Job Title: Stress Analysis EngineerJob DescriptionPerform detailed stress analysis on flight-critical structural components. Recommend limit and ultimate test loads for qualification testing based on stress analysis and design improvements to meet these loads. Conduct dynamic and vibration analysis to determine system performance and optimum system parameters, evaluating characteristics such as dynamic spring rate, life, modes, damping, and deflections. Calculate cumulative fatigue damage for structural components under intact and failsafe conditions, and develop fatigue test load spectrums for qualification tests. Perform fracture mechanics analysis to assess structural integrity in the presence of initial flaws. Support structural metallic design and analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), including strength evaluation, stress, internal loads, optimization, and more. Prepare and review analysis reports for customers or FAA certification, and develop special purpose computer programs while maintaining in-house software. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing staff in MRB activities and investigations to justify discrepancies in manufactured or in-service parts. Provide analytical support to design engineers on structural integrity, drawing review, stack-up tolerance, and material selection. Participate in preparing technical proposals with preliminary design, analysis, and technical options, supporting development program assignments, and participating in internal and customer design reviews.
