This includes monitoring and reporting metered consumption data at the customer and company level for customer billing, revenue, and regulatory reporting. Includes the administration and configuration of company’s cycle meter reading applications and their interface with CIS systems. This role is accountable to achieve organizational and operational objectives, while defining and implementing processes, and developing staff. This position is highly visible and requires a strong leader with the ability to prioritize, plan, and direct the department with confidence and a positive demeanor. This position will be responsible for electric, gas and water operations across all regions.Accountabilities

Oversee coordination of meter data processes including Meter reading schedules and general inquiries.

Provide troubleshooting and repair efforts for field hardware including handheld devices, mobile collection equipment, and their associated configurations.

Provide leadership and day-to-day employee direction to include mentoring, managing performance, and approving appropriate education plans. Ensure staff has the required skills for current and future business opportunities.

This responsibility also includes oversight and evaluation of the performance of staff against Liberty Utilities standards and mentoring and developing reporting staff.

Ensures meter data staff and processes are working smoothly and that work is coordinated between departments to provide most efficient operations.

Inspires excellence through strong communication of the company’s vision and strategic targets to support a motivated, and positive work culture.

Act as a liaison with Billing, Field Operations, Contact Centers, and associated Vendors for problem resolution and project management.

Work with staff to investigate complex meter reading and billing issues and provide timely and appropriate response to customers.

Develops, implements, monitors and reports appropriate performance measures and objectives. Identify the need to add to the staffing compliment and lead the interviewing, selection and on-boarding of new staff as needed.

Works with leadership to identify and implement service and process improvements to increase efficiency and quality of service.

Maintain adequate systems for scheduling, staffing and execution of workflow patterns.

Authorize retention of data and preparation of documents for use during inquiries, including those from the regulator.

Assists meter data staff with more complex utility accounts and monitors monthly processes. Other duties as assigned.

Ability to successfully deal with all levels of management in the company as well as with other internal and external stakeholders.

Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals to document department activities and processes.

Effectively present information and respond to questions.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience

3-5 years’ experience working in Billing, Meter Data, or Operations.

People management experience in mentoring and developing of

employees preferred.

SAP experience required with strong knowledge of Internet software and

the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Excel or Database

Software. Experience with meter reading, billing systems and knowledge

of Customers Information Systems.

Strong communication skills, verbal and written, including excellent

language, spelling, grammar, punctuation and vocabulary

A high level of problem-solving abilities to work collaboratively with others

to resolve complex collection issues.

Utility industry experience preferred.

Occasional travel to other Liberty Territories and to the head office in

Canada, overnight stays will be required. A valid passport is required for international travel.
