The Patient Care Supervisorof Maternal Child Health is expected to perform duties under the guidance of the Patient Care Manager including:

  • Sharingleadership responsibilities for the nursing unit, including managing daily staffing plans.
  • Ensuringappropriate and timely use of bed placement technology (Teletracking) and adherence to care processes for bed placement/patient transfer/patient transport/room cleaning and patient discharge.
  • Ensuring the safe transition of patients thru the continuum of care to include active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, and direct hand-off to next appropriate level of care.

Thisis a Full-Time (80 hours, every two weeks) benefited position, working the NIGHTshifts on various days of the week. Located at Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSN preferred.
  • Prior experience as a supervisor preferred.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Two years clinical experience in Labor and Delivery and Post-Partum, one of which in a leadership or charge nurse role.
  • Excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through.
  • Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care.

Required Certification/Registration:

  • Maintains current California RN license.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider.
  • Current NRP.
  • Current Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring Certificate from AWHONN or NCC.

  • Must remain in original Job Title
  • Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis andmay result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically notedin your offer letter.
