Surgery Scheduler

Description A large hospital system in Santa Monica is currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler with EPIC experience to join their dynamic healthcare team. You will be tasked with coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures smoothly and efficiently. Schedule surgical procedures by adhering to surgeon's preferences, patient's needs, and facility capacities.

Coordinate with surgical teams and patients to determine the optimal schedule while maximizing the use of resources.

Maintain the surgery schedule, ensuring accurate detail and up-to-date data at all times.

Backed by a deep understanding of EPIC systems, record and update information accordingly.

Interface with insurance providers to seek pre-authorization and manage any scheduling conflicts.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, aligning with them for pre-operative screenings and post-operative follow-ups.

Resolve scheduling conflicts and patient inquiries professionally and in a timely manner.

Ensure adherence to hospital policies and HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements

At least 2-3 years of experience in a Surgery Scheduler role or a similar position in a healthcare setting.

Proficient familiarity with EPIC electronic health records (EHR) system is mandatory.

Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.

Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to empathize with patients and their families.

Knowledge of health insurance and medical billing protocols.
