System Safety EngineerJob DescriptionThis position is located onsite in Northridge, CA. Activities include system safety analysis of military weapon systems, participation in risk assessments/resolution, and mishap investigations. The ideal candidate will have experience with MIL-STD-882E and familiarity with military and their equivalent industry standards such as MIL-STD-882, RCC 319, AFSPCMAN 91-710, ASTM, ANSI, NEC, AFOSH, AOP-52, JOTP-051, PESHE, and NFPA.Technical Skills

BS in Electrical Engineering or relevant degree with 9 years of relevant/related experience or a MS in Electrical Engineering or relevant degree with 7 years of relevant/related experience

Application of MIL-STD-882E to analyze, recommend, and drive safety into system design, equipment, and procedures to mitigate or eliminate hazards

Experience documenting hazards with a closed-loop Hazard Tracking System (HTS)

Familiarity with electrical circuit design

Application of system safety engineering principles to develop safety documentation in accordance with MIL-STD-882E, such as SSPP, PHA, FHA, SHA/SuSHA, Bent Pin Analyses, FTA, SAR, and Software Safety Analyses

Development, review, update, and approval of system safety artifacts and system safety requirements

Possess active DoD Security Clearance with investigation completed within the last 5 years

Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit schematics

Experience implementing and testing software safety requirements

Experience in the design of missile systems

Strong working knowledge of military system safety and process standards and their industry equivalents

Effective verbal and written communication with internal and external customers
