This platform will comprise a new centralized electrical architecture powered by Arene, Woven Planet's flagship programmable automotive software system that integrates on-vehicle OS and data collection services with the cloud. This team will deliver concept hardware and software solutions driven by high-quality UX research that defines an end-to-end product definition for Toyota's next-generation vehicles. This concept work will produce a full-stack solution starting with the digital services, the programmable software system, and the underlying compute and electrical architecture of the vehicle. This team represents the cutting edge of software and hardware development at Toyota. Your work will marry the speed and agility of Silicon Valley software development with the standards of functional safety, craftsmanship, and time-tested quality of Toyota products in a fast-paced, prototyping environment. JOB OVERVIEWAs part of the Systems Engineering team, your role is to provide detailed technical product requirements for next generation automotive electrical architectures in tight collaboration with customers (Tier1 and OEM), and worldwide marketing / SoC architecture / IC design / software teams. This is a hands-on role and the expectation is that you will lead by doing.RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop system requirements and create high quality, detailed product architecture specifications
- Responsible for coordinating the product development of electronic, mechanical, thermal systems
- Develops, manages and coordinates development and validation plans, work with HW/SW design teams and partners to schedule and track design releases, prototype and sample builds and validation.
- Understanding all aspects of the technology, the architecture and the function of the product.
- Customer facing and ready to travel world wide
- BS, MS, or PhD in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another relevant field with 5+ years of relevant experience in the following areas
- 10+ years experience in system level design and architectures: electronics, thermal, mechanical, development and analysis, system reliability, and risk mitigation.
- Proven experience with High Voltage (HEV/EV) architectures.
- Experience with NVIDIA, Renesas or Qualcomm SOC and hardware/software platforms.
- Experience with automotive electronic systems including the network layers (CAN, Ethernet)
- Creative mindset and problem solving skills
- Excellent technical communication through presentations and documentation (English)
- Team spirit, ability to interact internally and externally at all levels
- System development experience with Functional Safety standard ISO26262
- Knowledge of virtualization, kernel development and operating systems
- Proficient with hardware design collateral such as schematics and 3D files
- Knowledge of EMC testing and reduction techniques
