Join our team to help build a better, more sustainable world for future generations!Job Summary:Caterpillar’s Electric Power Division has an exciting opportunity as a Systems Territory Specialist. The Systems Territory Specialist (STS) supports EP Sales and Business Development teams in evaluating customer energy requirements and creating project-specific solutions to offer for sale. The STS will utilize their combination of technical and commercial expertise to communicate the value proposition of the system to meet the desired Energy Outcome for our customer.The successful candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, deep electrical expertise, a high degree of customer focus, and a passion for capturing orders.What you will do:

Enables participation of and preference for Caterpillar systems components to fulfill our customers' energy needs.

Supports Caterpillar Sales and Business Development teams in developing and offering comprehensive systems including controls, power distribution and power generation assets. Acts as the technical and commercial expert for system-level solution selling.

Accurately tracks and communicates forecast, sales strategy planning, and sales techniques, supporting the rollout of new products.

Understands territory codes, standards, competitive and market trends and positions offerings to maximize opportunity capture rate. Provides feedback to EP leadership on recommended product development and go-to-market strategy based on that understanding.

Collaborates with peers in Sales and Business Development teams for collective continuous improvement.

What you will have:

Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

Business Development: Knowledge of business development tools, techniques and approaches; ability to explore and develop potential areas of business growth for the organization.

Value Selling: Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.

Top Candidates will have:

4-year degree in electrical engineering or design or equivalent work experience highly desired.

10 years of experience in the design or sale of electrical controls and/or electrical power generation or distribution equipment highly desired.

Strong working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards for North America (Pacific Northwest and Canada) markets.

Strong understanding of generator control, paralleling, and application in prime and standby markets.

Additional Information:

This position will be located within the territory of the role from their home office in Southwest United States.

Domestic and international travel of 60-70% is required for this position.

A company car and monthly cell phone stipend will be offered for this position.

The territory for this role includes the Western United States.

This position is currently a hybrid in-office work model, requiring a 3-day weekly office presence onsite at our (location) office and remote work for the remaining days. However, work arrangements may be adjusted at any time based on business needs.
