This role primarily involves managing multiple tax engagements to ensure the delivery of quality tax services. The position is remote, providing a flexible work environment. Responsibilities: Review and prepare complex federal and state income tax returns for various entities including individuals, businesses, benefit funds, real estate, and exempt organizations. Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients, demonstrating knowledge of their businesses. Conduct tax research, planning, compliance, and documentation required for tax filings and audits. Mentor entry level tax staff, fostering their skills and performance development. Handle federal, state, and local tax audits effectively. Assist in formulating and delivering tax planning and tax savings services. Understand and manage firm risk on tax services performed. Meet with clients to provide accounting and tax advice. Prepare corporate consolidated returns and combined state tax returns. Utilize tax software programs, Excel, and Word to efficiently manage and coordinate team activities. Requirements Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the role of a Tax Manager in a public CPA firm. Experience in preparing and filing Federal Income Tax Returns is required. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or EA is required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; a Master's degree in Taxation is preferred. Proficiency in tax software and databases along with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Excellent leadership and team management skills are required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to liaise with clients and provide excellent customer service. Must have a strong knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance, and all types of tax returns. Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines simultaneously. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are necessary.
