Tax Preparer

Description This dynamic opportunity has just become available through Robert Half for a Tax Preparer with an organization in the Palo Alto, California area. Skilled candidates will be accurate in all tasks and complete various projects in a timely manner. You will be accountable for the preparation of simple and complex, individual and corporate State and Federal tax returns as the Tax Prepaper. This role will be on a long-term contract / temporary basis. Please apply right away! This role requires work onsite.Responsibilities

Maintain other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned

Reply to incoming client calls to help with tax questions and set appointments

Determine and invoice for form preparation fees

Manually arrange transaction tax returns utilizing various methods (Paper, E File, EDI Upload) with various government agencies

Keep in touch with clients to ensure necessary information/documents is up to date

Administer appropriate data into Tax software application precisely

Requirements

3 to 5+ years experience preparing tax returns (Individual and Corporate)

Excellent oral and written communications skills

Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data

Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment

Comprehensive knowledge of Lacerte by Intuit tax software

Deep understanding of individual taxes

Partnership tax experience

Spreadsheet and database capabilities

Able to work independently with a minimal amount of oversight

AA or BS/BA in Accounting or finance preferred
