Description Job Summary:We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Tax Preparers to join our clients' teams for ongoing seasonal tax preparation opportunities during tax season. This role is perfect for individuals with 1-2 years of tax preparation experience who are looking to apply their skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing individual tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and providing excellent customer service.Key Responsibilities:Tax Preparation:
Prepare federal and state income tax returns for individuals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax laws.
Review clients’ financial information, such as W-2s, 1099s, and other relevant documents to accurately complete tax forms.
Apply tax laws and regulations to ensure clients receive the best possible tax refund or minimized liabilities.
Communicate with clients to gather necessary information for tax filing and resolve any discrepancies or questions.
Client Communication:
Provide excellent customer service by explaining tax return details, credits, deductions, and potential tax savings.
Assist clients in understanding tax situations and provide advice on possible tax planning for future years.
Maintain professional communication with clients, answering questions and ensuring their comfort with the tax process.
Documentation & Filing:
Maintain accurate and organized tax records for each client.
Ensure timely submission of completed tax returns and documentation to the IRS and relevant state agencies.
Review and verify the accuracy of tax filings before submission to avoid errors and ensure compliance.
Compliance & Updates:
Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws, tax software updates, and best practices in tax preparation.
Ensure all tax filings are in compliance with current federal, state, and local tax laws.
Requirements
Qualifications:
1-2 years of experience in tax preparation or similar roles (individual tax preparation experience is preferred).
Knowledge of tax regulations, credits, and deductions for individuals.
Experience with tax preparation software (e.g., TurboTax, ProSeries, or similar).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing and reviewing tax returns.
Excellent communication skills to explain tax situations and offer customer service.
Ability to work efficiently under deadlines, especially during peak tax season.
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or CPA coursework preferred.
