Technical Artist - Documentation

Job DescriptionThe Metaverse Technical Art team is looking for a technical artist to join our multidisciplinary team. As a technical artist, you will help build a social User Generated Content (UGC) platform where people can find people, places, and things they care about.Our ideal candidate will also be responsible for documenting the technical concepts associated with efficient onboarding, computer graphics pipelines, including areas in rigging, animation, lighting, shading, visual effects, and scripting, while focusing on the quality, discoverability and accuracy of technical content. You will do hands-on research and obtain necessary technical content from subject matter experts while translating it into clear, concise, structured documentation.Technical Artist, Reality Labs Responsibilities:Create and maintain documentation for internal technologies, tools, and platforms used within Meta.Work closely with engineering, product, and support teams to ensure the quality, discoverability, and accuracy of the content that you create and develop.Design, write, edit and maintain technical and artistic process and instruction documentation.Create assets, processes, tooling to validate, prototype, and implement new capabilities in partnership with cross functional teams.Implement runtime logic within a complex real-time environment with performance limitations in mind.Prototype, profile and optimize custom shadersOptimize content through enhancing performance and instructing the artists and designers on asset creation, modeling and texturing best practices.Develop broad technical expertise to assist in a wide variety of technical and artistic tasks, including diagnosing and fixing bugs.Create dynamic and informative playbooks for cross-functional collaborators.Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentWe are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
