Technical Product Manager: SaaS product integration, security, compliance PRDs / dev ownership; legaltech or fintech a + The Technical Product Manager is responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering stakeholder feedback and insights, planning and prioritizing initiatives, translating requirements from the client, technical, and business domains, coordinating launch activities, defining vision and strategy for technology-focused initiatives, defining acceptance criteria, measuring progress to goal, and working closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment around strategic business goals. The Technical Product Manager manages a small group of Product Owners, and demonstrates advanced skills in the areas of communication, strategic planning, coordination, and data-driven decision making. This role works with a variety of technical teams, many of whom operate as shared services for other product teams. The nature of the work they do is often highly technical and is driven by other product teams or the need for compliance and security. The products and services they work on are often non-GUI (e.g. integrations, cloud infrastructure, back-end office application processors, et al.).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand their unmet needs, pain points, and desires; then translate those needs into formal business initiatives with well-defined success criteria.
  • Partner with executives to understand business goals that help identify opportunities, and articulate solutions in support of those goals.
  • Partner with senior development and design managers to provide clear goals and direction, including release targets and acceptance criteria, to product development teams.
  • Partner with developers and project managers to provide direction and coordination throughout the project/product development lifecycle.
  • Develop and manage a product strategy for multiple products/services; constantly driving and communicating progress toward business goals.
  • Manage product roadmaps for technology-focused teams that lead to client success and satisfaction.
  • Generate and manage an actionable backlog of insights and initiatives that is informed by direct client and stakeholder feedback and data.
  • Lead and facilitate stakeholder feedback sessions, advisory boards, and major workshops.
  • Manage initiative scope and provide clear acceptance criteria to technology-focused teams, with emphasis on increasing product adoption, revenue growth, and return on investment.
  • Provide business and technology domain expertise and act as a subject matter expert (SME) in support of product, sales, support, and development.
  • Assess and anticipate issues, risks, and business impacts and develop business cases for technology-focused projects.
  • Apply appropriate business systems analysis and project management methods and techniques to deliver work products across multiple phases of a project/sprint.
  • Independently identify and articulate opportunity spaces based upon analytical skills and domain knowledge.
  • Systematically address business/partner stakeholder problems as well as technical problems.
  • Be responsible for the business requirements and release schedules associated with multiple parallel development projects.
  • Travel as necessary to participate in key sales product demos, tradeshows, and team events.

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology (or similar), or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Fintech / legaltech experience is a plus
  • Experience working w/ SaaS products is required.
    • B2B & B2B2C solutions are preferred.
    • Experience owning SaaS product integrations, security, & compliance requirements (PRDs / development) is required.
  • 3-5 years of Product Manager experience that includes:
    • An ability / skill at gathering / documenting reqs for product development (epics, user stories, use cases, etc.)
    • Full product life cycle experience
    • Experience engaging w/ external customers to gather feedback on the product to inform the product roadmap
    • Experience leading a team (project-wise) is helpful. You will be over a small team of Junior Product Managers who you will help mentor on writing reqs in Jira (for product development)
    • Proficiency with roadmap tools (e.g. Aha) preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Software Development ticketing tools (e.g. Jira (preferred))
  • Travel as necessary to participate in key sales product demos, tradeshows, and team events.
