Technical Support Specialist - Avionics (Costa Mesa, CA)

For over 40 years, we have been a leading manufacturer of high-quality aircraft engine data monitors, providing pilots, aircraft operators, and installers with critical engine performance information. We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Technical Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our valued customers, providing expert technical assistance and ensuring their success with our products.

Responsibilities:

Provide exceptional technical support to customers via phone and email, addressing inquiries related to installation, programming,

and operation of our aircraft engine data monitors.

Troubleshoot technical issues with customers, offering clear and concise solutions.

Assist installers (Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics) with proper installation procedures and wiring configurations.

Guide pilots and aircraft operators through the programming and operational aspects of the engine monitoring systems.

Understand and explain the interpretation of engine data parameters, including:

o Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT)

o Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT)

o Fuel Pressure and Quantity

o Manifold Pressure

o Turbine Inlet Temperature (TIT)

o Induction Air Temperature (IAT)

o Compressor Discharge Temperature (CDT)

Document all customer interactions and resolutions accurately and efficiently in our support ticketing system.

Escalate complex technical issues to engineering or senior support staff as needed.

Contribute to the development of technical support documentation, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides.

Stay up-to-date on the latest product developments and enhancements.

Provide feedback to product development teams based on customer interactions.

Maintain a positive and professional demeanor in all customer interactions.

Qualifications:

Experience in a technical support role, ideally in the aviation or electronics industry.

Strong understanding of aircraft systems and components (preferred).

Familiarity with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanics' practices is a significant advantage.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical

and non-technical audiences.

Proficiency in using computer applications, including email, CRM/ticketing systems, and technical documentation.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

A passion for aviation and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field is a plus.

Working Conditions:

Full-time position: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a one-hour lunch break.

Office environment in Costa Mesa, California.
