Company Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City

Provides second level / tier 2 technical support services for National IT products and services across the entire Federal Reserve System. Works with the National Service Desk and Local District Support to resolve problems. Assists with ensuring system improvements are successfully implemented.

Key Activities & Responsibilities
  • Provides second level / tier 2 technical support services to National IT, business lines, Reserve Bank IT support and project teams.
  • Resolves desktop product and service problems of a moderately complex nature.
  • Technical support responsibilities include, but not limited to, researching, troubleshooting and remediating problems with electronic software delivery, group policy objects (GPO), desktop configuration, web browser configuration, application compatibility issues with any desktop products. Recommends workarounds/ resolutions for problems and partners with other technical teams to implement.
  • Works closely with desktop design engineers, and project teams, to provide input on new desktop product and service offerings that will require technical support in the production-computing environment. Serves as a subject matter expert on known issues and user experience for National IT products and services. May lead or assist in small to majors projects related to the desktop environment.
  • Develops incident and problem management policies and procedures. Uses problem management tools to track problems and to document resolution of those problems. Develops knowledgebase articles for known problems.
  • Complies with all policies and procedures for testing, and documenting and implementing desktop-related changes into the production environment.
  • Transfers technical knowledge to others.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Typically requires at least 3-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Associate's degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or IT-related field of study. Work experience may be substituted for degrees.
  • Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft Certificated Associate: Windows 10, Mobility, Administrating SCCM Configuration Manager, or other IT related certification are a plus.
  • Experience and familiarity with the following technologies desired:
    • Microsoft Windows support
    • Virtual Desktops (VDI) support
    • Internet Browser support
    • MAC device support
    • Software/Patch Deployment via Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, or Microsoft InTune.
    • Endpoint Protection Platforms (EPP) including Microsoft Defender and/or Symantec.
    • Microsoft Active Directory and group policy management
    • Powershell
  • Demonstrates analytical and systematic approach to problem solving.
  • Communicates fluently orally and in writing and can present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Maintains awareness of developing technologies and their application and takes some responsibility for personal development.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, Product Management and Agile practices is desirable.
  • Incumbent must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless the Bank grants an accommodation based on a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief.

This position has additional screening requirements due to the information accessed while performing the job. These additional screenings would be initiated at the time of offer acceptance and can take up to a couple of months to be completed.
