JOB TITLE:

Theater Coordinator (Part-time - likely <5 hours/week, Spring 2026 semester)

JOB SUMMARY:

Fostering a safe and inclusive environment for students to explore their creativity and build confidence while developing and leading theatrical productions, teaching acting and performance skills, and managing all aspects of student theater programs.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- High School Diploma (or its recognized equivalent)

- Experience leading school drama productions

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Consults and collaborates with Regional Director, families, and school staff as required

- Recruits students to participate in theater activities, holds auditions, and maintains consistent communication to keep students engaged

- Teaches acting and performance skills

- Creates and manages the overall theater program, which may include a play, a musical, or other performance-based events

- Ensures the program is a safe, supportive, and inclusive space for all students

- Completes all mandated trainings

DESIRED SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

- Reading, writing and speaking in English

- Basic concepts of child growth and development and developmental behavior characteristics

- Behavior management strategies and techniques

- Maintain emotional control under difficult situations and varying degrees of stress

- Learn and adapt to new procedures and conditions

- Apply knowledge and practices with judgment

- Follow oral and written direction

- Maintains effective communication with families and school staff

- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of individuals and groups

- Communicate effectively via telephone, computer and in person

- Lift/move objects weighing up to 10 pounds

- Mobility to traverse all areas of the worksite

- Maintains regular and prompt attendance in the workplace
