Summary of position:

Redwood Christian School is searching for dedicated and passionate educators who will teach in a private school setting. Openings are for a TK/Kindergarten teacher and also teachers for 1st-6th grade (assignments will vary). We are searching for individuals who feel they are called to work and serve in this ministry with our students and families. We wish to hire teachers and staff who are highly qualified to perform the tasks necessary to provide academic excellence in addition to spiritual and personal growth amongst our students.

Summary of Responsibilities:

-Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in various subjects, including Bible, English, Math, Science, and Social Studies, following the curriculum guidelines set by the school.

-Integrate biblical principles into academic subjects, promoting Christian values and moral character.

-Use a variety of instructional techniques and resources to meet the needs of all students, including differentiated instruction for diverse learning styles.

-Maintain an environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and a love for learning.

-Lead students in Bible lessons, prayers, and discussions that promote a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

-Incorporate Christian principles into daily activities, discipline, and classroom management.

-Encourage and support students’ spiritual growth, character development, and social-emotional well-being.

-Regularly assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, projects, and informal observations.

-Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance, behavior, and spiritual growth.

-Maintain accurate records of student progress and keep open communication with parents through report cards, parent-teacher conferences, and regular updates.

-Create a respectful, safe, and supportive classroom environment that encourages self-discipline, responsibility, and kindness.

-Address behavioral concerns with a biblical approach to conflict resolution and discipline.

-Foster strong relationships with students based on trust, respect, and love.

-Collaborate with colleagues, school leadership, and parents to support the overall mission of the school and the academic and spiritual development of students.

-Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required.

-Maintain regular and open communication with parents regarding student progress and school events.

Qualifications:

All applicants must have an active credential from a State or ACSI or be in the process of obtaining a credential. The following credentials are among those considered acceptable: Multiple Subject, Single Subject, Special Education, Emergency Substitute, ACSI Temporary, ACSI Standard, ACSI Professional.

Experience: Prior teaching experience in an elementary school setting is preferred.

Faith: Strong Christian faith and commitment to the mission and values of the school. Active involvement in a local church community is highly preferred.
