Amick Brown is partnering with a PCB manufacturer in the Silicon Valley, looking for a

Trade Compliance Manager. You will be accountable for trade compliance operations and controls including oversite of the Export control process in cooperation with the brokers, and alignment on risk and priorities with internal stakeholders. Advise on local and U.S. trade compliance laws, regulations and export controls to support compliant operations.

Location: San Jose, CA

Responsibilities
  • Oversight of US, India and Canada International Trade Compliance program
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with appropriate governmental organizations Monitor, assess and communicate export compliance regulatory environment changes
  • Assess effectiveness of processes and compliance controls, communicate gaps, and assume accountability for closing such gaps in partnership with Site/Regional Leadership
  • Collaborate and lead process deployments, lead implementation of trade automation projects and other continuous improvements to ensure compliance in all applicable import and export regulations, including recognizing and implementing optimization projects.
  • Craft and manage the Trade Compliance Plans “TCP’s” for country specific programs in partnership with Regional Leadership, Site Operations and Corporate team
  • Maintain the Internal Compliance Plan “ICP” and present to relevant government agencies.
  • Represent the voice of the local operations to the Corporate Trade Compliance team for matters related to trade compliance.
  • Lead and develop Team and accountable to execute on the company’s strategy, leaders will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning and ensuring that their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential

Additional Accountabilities
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) and leader for Trade Compliance and logistics processes and requirements related to overseas Operations
  • Manage Regional trade compliance KPI's in line with Global KPIs
  • Provide voice of local operations for U.S. Export License applications
  • Manages Export Control Classification Assignments for local customer programs for assigned country and provide recommendations for export licenses
  • Execute compliance audits with sites and support improvement plans
  • Identify, and partner to mitigate, compliance opportunities and risks HRBP
  • Minimal travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated 15%)
  • Additional duties as assigned

Required Skills/Qualifications
  • Maintains a strong understanding of India, Canada import regulations and export control laws and U.S. export control regulations
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in related Supply Chain or Logistics field is required; a Master’s level coursework is preferred
  • Ten (10) years of related experience is required; Seven (7) or more years of equivalent industry experience is preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage several projects at a time.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project are required.
