In this role, you will be responsible for leading the premier shipping team responsible for the packaging and shipment extremely specialized spacecraft hardware. Materials and equipment packaged by our team support manufacturing products such as GPS Satellites, ORION Space Vehicles, and NASA Space Exploration Missions. The work environment is exciting, fast-paced, and provides the opportunity to work with some of the critical hardware that our nation depends on. You will be responsible for leading and motivating others, delegating work and explaining ideas, solving problems, making decisions, and interacting daily with your manufacturing customers.This position is in one of the Coolest places to work: Sunnyvale, CABasic Qualifications:4+ years experience with various facets of trafficking, shipping, packaging & transportation via multiple modes of transport (ground, air & sea).3+ years experience and current certifications for shipping of dangerous goods via ground and air modes (49CFR & ICAO/IATA)Willing/able to work outside normal business hours, including weekends at a low frequencyMust be a United States citizen and possess and maintain a current DOD Secret Clearance, with the potential ability to also obtain a SCI security clearance w/ polygraphDesired Skills:2+ years experience in the regulatory requirements for the management and operation of commercial motors vehicles (DOT & CA)Experience with regulatory requirements for the handling, storage, and transport of DOD and commercial ordnanceLeadership experience in providing direction to salaried and bargaining unit employeesExperience in production and delivery schedules development and executionExperience with coordinating permitted over-dimensional loads with commercial carriersBudget control and monitoring of stock to meet customer packaging demandsEffective written and verbal communication skills - ability to strategize, plan and execute new and improved work concepts to teamsBenefits of Employment:To promote the sharing of ideas, Lockheed Martin champions an inclusive work environment that urges differences and big-picture thinking.Our employees play an active role in strengthening the quality of life where we live and work by volunteering more than 850,000 hours annually.
