We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tree Care Safety Coordinator to ensure the safety of our tree care operations. The primary responsibility of this role is to train team members on proper tree climbing techniques and equip them with the skills to inspect their own equipment and gear. The Safety Coordinator will conduct field audits and spot checks on climbing gear, ropes, saddles, and harnesses to ensure compliance with safety standards. Knowledge of stump grinders, chain saws, and hand cutting tools is essential. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred, and experience with aerial rescue is beneficial but not required. Anticipated Compensation: $70.000-$85,000 per year. Key Duties and Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive safety training programs for team members, focusing on proper tree climbing techniques and equipment inspection procedures.

Equip team members with the knowledge and skills to conduct self-inspections of their climbing gear, ropes, saddles, and harnesses to ensure they meet safety standards.

Perform regular field audits and spot checks on climbing equipment and gear during tree care operations to identify any safety hazards or deficiencies.

Provide guidance and support to team members on safety best practices, including the safe operation of stump grinders, chain saws, and hand cutting tools.

Maintain accurate records of safety training sessions, equipment inspections, and audit findings.

Collaborate with management to implement safety policies and procedures to enhance safety measures and minimize risks.

Stay abreast of industry developments, safety regulations, and best practices related to tree care operations.

Assist in the selection and procurement of safety equipment and gear, ensuring they meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Participate in safety meetings, committees, and training sessions to contribute to the continuous improvement of safety initiatives.

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Certified Tree Care Safety Professional (CTSP) or ISA Arborist certification.

Thorough knowledge of tree care operations, including climbing techniques and equipment usage.

Experience in conducting equipment inspections and field audits to maintain safety standards.

Familiarity with stump grinders, chain saws, and hand cutting tools used in tree care operations.

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.

Experience with aerial rescue techniques is advantageous but not mandatory.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Education Certified Tree Care Safety Professional (CTSP) or ISA Arborist certification Physical requirements/Working Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in possibly extreme conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and wind.
