Amgen’s Clinical Immunology Department is seeking an enthusiastic undergraduate intern to support our research efforts in evaluating the immunogenicity of therapeutic candidates. In this dynamic role, you will gain hands-on experience in laboratory techniques and contribute to ongoing projects that align with our mission to advance drug development for various therapeutic areas.

Conduct in vitro cell-based assays, including working with Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMCs) and dendritic cell-T cell co-culture assays.

Participate in the development and optimization of high-throughput assays to evaluate immunogenicity risk.

Collaborate with scientists across multi-functional teams to support ongoing research initiatives.

Document experimental procedures and results in electronic lab notebooks.

Contribute to the analysis of data and assist in preparing reports and presentations for team meetings.

Engage in discussions and brainstorming sessions to explore new research ideas and methodologies.

The undergraduate intern we seek is collaborative and has attention-to detail with these qualifications:Basic QualificationsAmgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergrad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

18 years or older

Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent

Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing

Enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university

Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship OR co-op

Preferred Qualifications

Degree concentration(s) in Immunology, Biology, or related field

Hands on experience with cell culture techniques and knowledge of multi-color flow cytometry

Strong interest in clinical research and drug development, particularly in immunology.

Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and procedures.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
