Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity in the insurance industry for an Underwriting Assistant based in Los Angeles, California. The primary functions of this role include addressing client inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining accurate customer records. Responsibilities: Handle both inbound and outbound customer communication through different channels such as phone, email, and live chat. Address client inquiries in a timely and accurate manner, providing information about agency products or services. Investigate and analyze customer problems and provide effective solutions, collaborating with other departments when necessary. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of agency products and services to assist customers effectively. Keep accurate records of customer interactions and transactions. Report recurring issues to help improve overall service quality. Work closely with internal teams such as sales, marketing, and operations to address customer needs. Provide feedback on customer trends and issues to the team. Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of efficient customer service procedures. Suggest enhancements to products or services based on customer feedback. Requirements Possess a solid understanding of underwriting principles Ability to assist underwriters in the evaluation and assessment of complex insurance applications Proficient in analyzing and interpreting financial statements Strong organizational and multitasking skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Detail-oriented with strong analytical problem-solving abilities Familiarity with risk management and risk assessment Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Able to work effectively in a team environment Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field is preferred Previous experience in an underwriting or financial analysis role is a plus. ­Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
