Through its Refining business segment, Phillips 66 is upgrading crude oil and other feedstocks into higher-value petroleum products including clean-burning gasoline, ultra-low-sulfur diesel, jet fuel, lubricants, petroleum coke and other specialty products while maintaining a high regard for safety and environmental limitations.As a Phillips 66 Refining Engineering University New Hire you will participate in training and developmental programs which provide a comprehensive roadmap for early career engineers at Phillips 66. An introduction to company practices, procedures and technical tools, technical training classes, participating in technical networks, and on-the-job training.

New hire engineers learn from internal and external experts and collaborate with more experienced engineers within your business.

Phillips 66 engineers may begin their careers by contributing in these key areas: business or economic analysis, control systems, environmental, equipment reliability and maintenance, process design, operations, and/or projects.

Job assignments could be located in Linden, NJ; Houston, TX; Lake Charles, LA; Roxana, IL; Ferndale, WA; Billings, MT; Rodeo, CA; Borger, TX; Ponca City, OK; Los Angeles, CA; Sweeny, TX.

Required qualifications :

Legally authorized to work in the job posting country

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science/Corrosion, Metallurgical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent field of study

Graduation date between December 2024 and Spring/Summer 2025

Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to maintain face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair or clean shaven)

Preferred qualifications:

A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Previous internship with Phillips 66

Previous internship or co-op participant in related industry

Willing to work in any of our operating locations

Valid driver's license

The Rodeo Renewable Energy Complex is a state-of-the-art facility processing renewable feedstocks (waste oils, fats, greases, and vegetable oils) to produce vital transportation fuels, including renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuels for California, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia. The Rodeo facility has been providing energy and improving lives since 1896. The conversion from crude oil to renewable feedstocks was completed in early 2024, enabling the production of lower carbon-intensity transportation fuels.
