VP Engineering - Payments

Our client, one of the largest financial services firms, is seeking an VP Engineering - Payments

• Develop the technology strategy and roadmap aligned to deliver the Product goals; implement the resources, frameworks and tactical plans necessary to achieve goals
• Collaborate with product leaders and design counterparts to deliver a continuous innovation with Payment domains.
• Build and support payments platform that includes Payment Cloud Services, Gateway integration, eCommerce Services, Android Applications, APIs, On Device Payment experience, EMV Kernel integration and Certification.
• Own and develop an architectural vision to deliver a Omni-commerce payments platform built for scale, performance and resilience
• Own Payment Infrastructure roadmap delivery and support of systems.
• Recruit exceptional talent to scale geographically dispersed, virtual engineering teams while being a champion for the greater engineering organization.
• Define best practice standards, KPIs and processes to ensure high performance and consistent delivery of scalable, high-quality software using an agile-first approach
• Serve as the technology thought leader in internal and external forums such PCI, EMVCO
• Lead the end-to-end development lifecycle from planning to deployment, working closely with core teams in infrastructure, security, networks to deliver
• Strong understanding of the Payment and eCommerce technology landscape and best practices in software development, data management, security and infrastructure
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships at all levels
• Strong knowledge of payments architecture and how the software fits into the overall system, as well as how it will be deployed and managed in a production environment
• Able to assess situations and opportunities to make decisions quickly and confidently

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related STEM field
• 20+ years of progressive software engineering experience, primarily back-end, with API-driven applications and technology-driven platforms
• 7+ years in a senior leadership role (Director or higher) focused on designing, building and delivering software platforms, preferably in SaaS, Payments or E:commerce
• Leading an organization of 50+ engineers
• Fluent in hands-on management of agile development and delivery management
• Experience establishing an architectural vision and developing robust and scalable software products or platforms using a modern technology stack
• Experience developing KPIs, standards and procedures to ensure consistent high quality
• Experienced in modern programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, REACT, Spring, RESTful/JSON web services frameworks
• Experience with modern architectures, designs and practices including API gateways, microservices, micro frontends, and domain driven design
• Experience in developing Payment Infrastructure using Public Cloud such as Google Cloud Platform,AWS is required.
