Job Summary and General Purpose of Position:The Workshop Services Project Associate is responsible for assisting with the overall project and testing needs of the Workshop Services Team at the Oxnard Engineering Campus. This supportive role spreads across all Test Fleets and Workshop projects. Driving Test Fleet vehicles on route, technically administrative duties in the office, and mechanical duties in the Workshop. They also provide cross-functional support of internal Teams at the Oxnard Engineering Campus with database entry, parts shipping/receiving, Facility support and other duties as required.

Essential Functions:• Drive the complete Brake Test, Durability, or Accumulation route, as necessary, or if a driver needs to be relieved/substituted.• Perform office duties such as entering data into tracking sheets, scan daily driver reports, fuel receipts, etc.• Support assignments of test vehicles to drivers, acting as backup when deemed necessary.• Once accustomed, assists with driver training and daily support of drivers as needed.• Supports the daily vehicle launch of Test Fleets including diagnostic readouts, wheel/torque measurements, initialization and/or troubleshooting of Data Acquisition Systems, and refreshing of data cards in vehicle data loggers.• Assist and support Workshop activities with Test Vehicle builds, Test Vehicle maintenance, teardown, and Workshop Haz-Mat/Safety initiatives.• Occasionally drive on the route in vehicles with drivers ensuring/monitoring to improve/correct driver performance and route regulations to ensure customer satisfaction.• Strategic support activities of internal Teams at the Oxnard Engineering Campus as assigned; database entry for parts to be tested, shipping/receiving of parts/equipment, facility and Test Fleet related tasks.• Performs regular inspections and documentation of work done on Historical Car Collection at Oxnard Engineering Campus.• Performs regular cleanup of Workshop items and organization of Workshop equipment.• Perform other duties as requested or required.

Job Requirements:Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree or Technical Diploma preferred, but would consider a combination of education and on-the-job experience.

Skills/Experience:

Ability to apply logical thinking and decision making based on procedures and guidelines supplied in the various task assignments. Must be self-motivated, detail oriented and well organized. Basic computer and data-entry experience. Flexibility to perform numerous tasks in the Workshop and/or Office as requested, oftentimes with changing objectives and priorities. Previous entry-level automotive technician experience with ASE certification is required. Must have at least 5-years of driving experience.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be flexible and available to work overtime and odd hours, including weekends and Holidays. Able to sit and drive a vehicle for a full shift of 8-9 hours. Clean CA drivers license. Pass a standard hearing test.
