As an Access Control Specialist supporting the Fort Carson Mission Training Complex (MTC), you will be trusted to work on US Army Mission Training Support. In this role, a typical day will include:
Collaborating with the Fort Carson Mission Training Complex Team
The Access Control Specialist / Alarm Monitor operates electronic security system equipment to monitor MTC security and safety posture.
This employee operates telephone console to receive incoming calls for assistance and coordinates with MTC staff to enable Soldiers and other MTC customers to navigate the MTC to achieve the Soldier or customer's objectives.
This employee follows established guidelines, and scans status charts and computer screen to determine security and safety posture of the MTC.
This employee monitors alarm system signals that indicate location of fire or other emergency, operates two-way radio to communicate with MTC staff and external agencies.
This worker enters commands on computer keyboard to update files and maintain logs, tests communications and alarm equipment, and backup systems to ensure serviceability.
The Access Control Specialist / Alarm Monitor may provide pre-arrival instructions to emergency personnel and activates alarm system to notify fire stations.
This employee records security status on SF 702, Security Container Check Sheet, at the close of each duty and/or business day to ensure that any area where classified information is used or stored is secure.
An integral part of the alarm monitor's duties is to verify security of all vaults, secure rooms, and containers used for storing classified material. The employee will also conduct end of day security checks.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education : High School Diploma/GED
Required Experience : Years of relevant experience: 3+ years experience in security or administrative duties
Required Technical Skills : MS Office Suite
Security Clearance Level : SECRET Clearance required to star
Location : On Customer Site, Fort Carson, CO MTC
