Job Summary

Under minimal direction, formulates and defines system scope and objectives. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering software application limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities. Includes analysis and documentation of requirements, gaps, issues, risks, and enhancements. Works in some phases of systems analysis and considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment. Performs a variety of tasks to support the customers and management. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debug, and documents those programs. Provides ad hoc reports and scheduled reports as requested. Responsible for quality assurance review. Responsible for directing and monitoring the work of team members.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities1. Evaluates feasibility, cost and required time to complete customer requests.2. Provides and/or implements recommendations and solutions.3. Formulates documents and communicates plan outlining steps required.4. Implements change or performs necessary system changes.5. Communicates and/or educates users in affected user departments.6. Monitors daily maintenance and/or error reports for data accuracy and maintains records of quality control.7. Identifies and resolves system and procedural problems quickly and communicates to management and/or affectedcustomers.8. Communicates and intervenes appropriately with vendor or departmental personnel when required or requested to helpresolve issues.9. Maintain updated documentation for all procedures.10. Ensures documentation is available.11. Remains current on reviewing vendor, enterprise and departmental correspondence.12. Makes formal and informal presentations both orally and in writing.13. Provides and maintains documentation as required or requested for application related training.14. Completes work status and time allocation documentation as required.15. Develops and maintains working relationships with vendors.16. Works with vendors to augment DH staff for large projects and help negotiate competitive professional service rates.17. Negotiates with clients and vendors to deliver projects and tasks within mutually agreed upon deadlines.18. Once properly trained, must respond to pages in a timely manner (according to department's established performancestandards, which include a 7X24 on-call rotation a minimum of once per month and can be more frequent as required) tocustomer inquiries and resolve problems related to fault detection and isolation.19. Mentors less-experienced analysts and teams on application systems to help build knowledge, skill and ability.20. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education and Experience 1. Associates Degree required. Concentration in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or Healthcare Related field preferred. 2. Two years Epic application support required. 3. In lieu of an Associate's degree, HS/GED and six (6) years Epic application support experience required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Understands software and hardware requirements of varied departmental systems. 2. Understands the workflow and process requirements of complex application systems. 3. Demonstrated ability to be the subject matter expert in supporting, maintaining and administering complex applications. 4. Full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming. 5. Understands business function related to the application. 6. Advanced ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical employees across the enterprise. 7. Demonstrated ability to communicate and intervene appropriately with vendor or departmental personnel when required or requested to help resolve issues. 8. Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills. 9. Exceptional organizational skills with ability to handle multiple projects, multiple (and sometimes conflicting) priorities and adapt to change. Computers and Technology 1. Intermediate skills in Microsoft office suite. Certificates, Licenses and Registration 1. Epic certification required. If not pre-certified, then certification required one year post hire date. All Certifications and Licenses required for this job must be kept current as a condition of continued employment. Supervisory Responsibilities This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, coaching, supervision, fostering teamwork, training and development of one or more employees.
