Job Summary

Under general direction, the Epic Application Analyst IV is an Epic certified or proficient individual, who is responsible for the stakeholder management, work distribution, strategy, analysis, design, build, configuration, implementation, workflow documentation, and educational support of the assigned Epic application software, in alignment with organization's policies, procedures, and business operations. Has in depth knowledge of Epic system functions. Readily displays the ability to diagnose issues, identify appropriate resources and escalations, and propose creative solutions to complex problems. Understands the functions and processes of key customer departments and can coordinate and communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholder groups. Can function independently at the level that will allow them to participate in the 24x7 on-call rotation and coordinate and deliver departmental level project requests.

Responsibilities

• Plans and organizes time effectively. • Partners with Epic end users to identify needs, opportunities, weaknesses, and issues to provide solutions and improvements. Which may include attending site visits, validation sessions, and other integrated sessions. Demonstrated awareness and understanding of institution, department and customer mission and goals. • Participates and guides the phases of system changes, including design, build, testing, documentation and education. • Complies with department processes for change management and risk mitigation. Using tools such as Epic Content Management, Data Courier, and other department tools. • Communicates with team, stakeholders and vendors to discuss the status of issues, trends, deliverables, end-user concerns, and anticipated milestones. Provides feedback to vendors on existing functionality and desired new / modified functionality to enhance overall system capabilities. • Maintains and reviews the status of projects and escalates issues and risks on an ongoing basis with leadership. • Follows standard work for documentation of all solutions ensuring consistent deliverable and reusable solutions • Actively reviews and responds to vendor, enterprise, and team correspondence. • Makes use of IT and enterprise problem/request tracking tools. Keeps current documentation on all assigned tasks. Completes work status and time allocation documentation as required. • Work with training staff to ensure documentation and training materials are in line with delivered solutions. • Makes formal and informal presentations to leadership and end users both orally and in writing. • Assists with the development of documentation and policies/procedures regarding information systems. Assures all appropriate departments are involved in the development of policies which cross department lines. • Participation in Epic team integrated workgroup(s). • Mentors less-experienced analysts and teams on application systems to help build knowledge, skill and ability. • Maintain active working relationships and alignment with Epic (vendor) support staff, other vendors, and outside partner organizations. • Active user of support, request, information providing tools, such as Sherlock, Nova, and other standard IT systems. Documenting comprehensive and complete information in these tools so analysis, work performed, decisions, and information is available, searchable, and trackable. • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Will accept applications for a Lead Analyst with optime/anesthesia build experience OR an Analyst with optime/anesthesia analyst experience.

  • Five years Epic application support experience required.
  • Certification in Optime and build experience required.
  • Associates Degree, In lieu of an Associate's degree, HS/GED and five (5) years Epic application support experience.
  • Epic build experience required
  • Ability to adapt and excel in an evolving technical environment; identifies and validates the appropriate solution to meet various needs.
  • Understands the Epic system capabilities, and limitations in supporting various workflow and process requirements of the enterprise.
  • Demonstrates strong ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems. Can use analytical reasoning to determine root causes, define the problem, generate solutions, and implement the best option.
  • Communicates in a way that builds relationships and fosters collaborative work. Tailors the mode and content of communication to both technical and non-technical colleagues in and outside of the organization.
  • Displays high level of initiative, including the ability and willingness to take ownership of work, recognize assignments or tasks that need to be completed, seek out additional assignments or tasks, and help others.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with an ability to handle multiple efforts of varying priority, demonstrating flexibility with respect to changing organizational needs. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to accomplish goals.
  • Business analysis skills to identify data solutions by interviewing business users, analyzing processes/operations, establishing solution objectives, prototyping solution, and preparing specifications.
  • Effectively lead project requests through any/all standard stages of a project lifecycle.
  • Mentor to fellow team members aiding in building knowledge, skills and abilities.

Salary:

$93,000.00 - $139,600.00/yr
