Our approach and use of the latest and best methods help clients achieve their project goals while preserving our historical heritage. Olsson is seeking an architectural historian who meets the United States Secretary of Interior (SOI) Professional Qualifications Standards (36CFR61).  As Senior Architectural Historian , your role is multifaceted and critical in ensuring compliance with state, local, and federal historical preservation regulations and promoting sustainable projects. You will manage the above-ground component of compliance projects, conduct cultural resource assessments, work with regulatory agencies, coordinate with clients, and collaborate with team members and outside consultants. You will also mentor and train others on complex compliance work and lead the above-ground component of client and regulatory meetings.Join us and be part of a team that’s making a real impact!Your key responsibilities include:Regulatory Compliance: Navigating complex federal, state, and local regulations, and attaining necessary permits and clearances.National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA): Developing required NHPA documentation, interfacing with agencies (e.g., lead federal agency, state agencies, State Historic Preservation Office [SHPO], USACE, USFWS) to secure necessary reviews and guidance, and coordinating a multidisciplinary team.Field Investigations: Completing or coordinating recording above-ground historic resources such as buildings, roadways, bridges or historic districts.Public Engagement and Outreach: Organizing public meetings and workshops and gathering community input, soliciting community input to shape projects, communicating project details transparently, and effectively engaging stakeholders.Collaboration and Interdisciplinary Work: Engaging with engineers, architects, and urban planners to integrate historic architecture considerations and facilitating cross disciplinary work.Project Management: Overseeing projects from start to finish, managing timelines, budgets, and deliverables, and coordinating with subconsultant, clients and agencies.Comprehensive Background In: Project management, overseeing medium to large scale projects and reviewing projects for historical regulatory compliance.
