Job Description

Title: A/V Technician

Location: onsite Colorado Springs Compensation: $35k - $45/year Depends on experience and level of education/training/certification(s).

Position Summary: The Technician is responsible for set up and install of equipment such as microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards for events and functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Tech Level I• Basic understanding of one-line drawings• Basic understanding of job site conditions, expectations, interfacing with client• Capable of pulling cable on site with oversight from Tech Level II or III• Clean-up of site to include trash duty, vacuuming, sweeping, wiping down surfaces

Tech Level II• Tech Level I plus the following:• Full understanding of types of cables and connectors used on all jobs• Able to mount equipment to include projectors, flat panel displays, ceiling speakers, wall speakers, ceiling microphones, ceiling document cameras, display interfaces (receivers/scalers), transmitters, etc.

Tech Level III• Tech Level I & Tech Level II plus the following:• Full understanding of types of terminations required for all cables• Full understanding of proper means/methods for building A/V racks, A/V lecterns, A/V consoles, etc.• Basic understanding of interfacing with electronics to include Crestron, Extron, AMX, Biamp, BSS, Polycom, Cisco, Life-size, projectors, flat panel displays, etc.• Considered to be the lead technician on site for assisting and directing other technicians on the project.• Communicate with P.M./P.E. to download project status, issues/concerns brought up by client, issues/concerns brought to their attention by other trades ( electrician, plumbing, finishers, etc.)• Keep all technicians on site on task (see also P.M./P.E.)• Test continuity of all end-to-end terminated cables.• Verify all cables are labeled according to A/V drawings.

Special Requirements• Ability to gain entry onto military installations when/if applicable

Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)• at least 4 years' experience based on Tech Level• Team player with exceptional interpersonal skills at all organizational levels• Self-directed, has initiative and is a great multi-tasker• Proven commitment to Safety and Quality

License/Certification: Driver's License (Preferred)
