Description:

We are seeking a Chief Electrical Estimator with extensive experience in large scale commercial and industrial sectors

The ideal candidate will possess strong conceptual estimating skills to train and guide their team

This high-pressure, high-demand role requires comprehensive knowledge across all aspects of the business and strong client interaction skills

The Chief Estimator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the Estimating and Preconstruction team for various electrical construction projects

This includes administering operating budgets, staffing, work assignments, salary, and performance reviews

The Chief Estimator will also support and administer all department standards and procedures as well as be responsible for the final review and approvals of estimate packages

We will consider titles like Operations Manager, Director, Preconstruction Director, Managing Director, and Senior Level Estimator

Electrical experience is mandatory

Based in Northern Denver

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field

Previous experience as a Lead or Senior Level Estimator

10+ years of electrical construction estimating experience

Knowledgeable of current local and national electrical codes (N.E.C.)

Advanced knowledge of assigned discipline, construction technology, estimating techniques and cost control

Able to read and understand civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, etc. plans and specifications to include blueprints, proposals, and other relevant design documents

Knowledgeable of electrical materials and methods of installation

Possesses a strategic mindset and sound judgment and ability to develop and manage strategic capture plans

Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems

Ability to perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating

Ability to estimate all types of projects and to coordinate and supervise group work effort

Ability to identify and meet customers’ needs, expectations, and requirements

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of specific variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

Proficient in using computers, Microsoft Office applications, Accubid, and Bluebeam

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities as necessary

Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude

Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills

Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player

Ability to build relationships with teams and oversee strategic actions with others

Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

Self-driven with the ability to stay on-task for extended periods of time while working independently
