Job Overview:

Schedule outpatient clinic visits. Schedule various Aspen Valley Hospital based tests/procedures, as needed, according to established protocols. Register each patient for the clinic visit upon presentation to the clinic. Facilitate patient flow with the clinic staff and providers.

Primary Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Schedule provider clinic visits according to the established schedule for each provider.
  • Accurately register each patient in the EMR, for the clinic visit, using a thorough interview technique. Assure all patient demographic and insurance information is current and complete for billing. Obtain patient consent for treatment. Ensure all compliance requirements are met. Assist patient with EMR Kiosk use. Obtain patient signature on any ABN's provided by AVH pre-cert dept.
  • Perform cash collections at time of service, consistent with financial counseling procedures, AVH's Credit and Collection Policy and any other financial directives. Utilize software for payment and receipt. Handle money competently and securely, accurately post payments received. Provide correct change if applicable. Balance and reconcile cash drawer daily, report any discrepancies to the Department Director.
  • Complete discharge process for each patient. Schedule follow up appointment. Assure patient understands the plan for care and future visits. Enlist the assistance from clinical staff for any clinical concerns.
  • Monitor incoming and outgoing faxes, emails, and other correspondence. Refer correspondence to the correct staff member/group for task completion.
  • Assist with daily operations of the clinic.
  • Maintain flexibility for reassignment to a variety of Outpatient Clinics as assigned by Director and Clinical Supervisor, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Spanish preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting is beneficial

Pay range for new hires: 22.00/hr - 25.92/hr
