The US Rare Disease Community Development Director (East) will play a critical role in ensuring strong and consistent sales performance that exceeds forecast and expectations relating to product goals and driving accountabilities for all results in community development accounts throughout the Rare Disease field organization.The team will engage community prescribers but also generate a key source of growth which is using digital leads to find undiagnosed patients and or educating prescribers to refer diagnosed untreated patients. This role will conduct coaching and strategy sessions as needed with their field teams to facilitate the co-creation of customer value and ensure ongoing internal alignment and account growth. This role will function as a player/coach and will be the central focal point for commercial communications regarding account planning, strategy, collaboration, resource allocation and customer engagement. Communication across the commercial field leadership, medical counter parts and marketing teams will be of the upmost importance.Main responsibilities: Across the Rare Disease Nation and our ‘one team, common goals, single mission’ approach, this leadership role is dedicated to shaping and executing the overarching cross-lysosomal storage diseases (xLSD) sales strategy and commercial plan for Community & Development accounts.
Responsible for 5 therapeutic areas, 7 brands and building and gaining approval for account specific plans.
Makes decisions and build plans with a combined business and scientific mindset.
Assume the goal to be the best-in-class patient find team.
Lead the Community Development team within matrix xLSD commercial team to drive awareness and promote approved therapies for target customers.
Recruit, hire, develop, and manage commercial talent, provide performance oversight to consistently exceed brand objectives and sales goals.
Oversee Community Development team in creating local business plans to achieve targets, effectively allocating resources within regulatory and compliance guidelines.
Provide direction on field work to assess customer and field needs, set objectives, provide coaching, and manage performance with regional directors.
Coach team to build and sustain strong relationships with key healthcare providers and internal/external colleagues.
Partner with Sales Training to ensure the field sales team executes training programs effectively, establishing themselves as xLSD scientific experts.
Develop and execute strategies and tactics for Community & Development customers to ensure regional and organizational productivity, analyzing market dynamics and trends to support brand objectives.
Working with Strategic Accounts Managers in developing a strategy and follow up and maximize new customer leads.
About you
Bachelor’s degree
Enjoy working in a robust business with multiple brands.
Proven experience in a sales leadership role within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, with a focus on rare diseases or specialized therapeutic areas.
Robust network development abilities, with a track record of establishing connections, referrals, and infrastructure for key accounts.
Broad understanding of health system business, decision making processes & market trends with a proven track record of accessing C-suite to D-suite decision makers
Proven ability to translate health system market knowledge and develop strategic plans with internal stakeholders.
Evidence of strong negotiation skills, leading cross-functional teams, with the ability to network and develop strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
The ability to execute tactical initiatives, provide ongoing feedback, and prioritize multiple projects.
Broad field sales experience with demonstrated success working with P&T committees, decision makers & influencers in Hospitals, Health Systems, IHNs and other large-organized customers.
Possesses strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
Self-directed and organized with excellent execution and planning skills.
Ability to adapt and change in a shifting environment.
Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
