SummarySENIOR COPYWRITERThe Senior Copywriter is an experienced writer, concepter, strategic thinker, and leader who will develop and present content for a variety of brands on AMP’s client roster. Working directly with clients and internal partners in accounts, design, and strategy, the Senior Copywriter will own the process of crafting creative and compelling messaging from conception to completion. The person in this role will write copy for social, digital, and traditional marketing channels, including crafting manifestos, concept statements, headlines, caption copy, scripts, webpage content, blog posts, and more. They’ll present work internally and to clients, participate in brainstorms, and support design output and media efforts with a compelling POV.The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and innately curious. The Senior Copywriter will work across multiple accounts and teams within the agency, so the ability to multitask and manage client deadlines and expectations is key. As a bonus, this person will have a passion for both consuming and creating social media.This is a remote position.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as primary copy lead on projects spanning across various clients, audiences, and industries

Take ownership of the copy process from start to finish, including researching, brainstorming, drafting, and revising copy

Craft compelling, persuasive, and engaging concepts and campaign messaging

Ensure a consistent brand story and voice across projects - flexing into different tones depending on the brand, project, and audiences.

Partner with senior creative leads to ensure work is engaging, on-brief, on-brand, and hits KPIs

Participate in brainstorming sessions and shape conceptual ideas into integrated concepts

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver outstanding creative on time, every time

Build strong internal relationships with Account, Media, Project Management, and Strategy teams as well as a trusting rapport with clients

Keep on the pulse of the latest social media content best practices and trends

REQUIREMENTS

5+ years of experience as a copywriter in an advertising agency or related field, where you've honed your craft and become a wordsmith extraordinaire

A strong portfolio of professional and/or speculative creative work with examples of writing/thinking to demonstrate abilities is required

Strong writing, editing, prooing, and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills

Expert understanding of best practices for social, digital, and print (broadcast is a plus)

Experience working with cross-functional teams

Strong understanding of brand and identity development including experience with crafting and honing voice and tone guidelines

Exceptional organizational and time management skills

Ability to work on multiple projects at once and to meet deadlines on a daily basis in a team-oriented environment

Passion for internet culture and keeping up with emerging technologies and the latest social and marketing trends

Ability to problem-solve and adapt to situations based on client or internal needs

Comfortable with production process and being on set

Responsible for all aspects of agency copywriting projects, taking projects from original conception through completion, a single point of contact for those projects, participates in brainstorming sessions, and crafts compelling messages to convey a concept and support a design. Works with management, customers, and clients to craft messaging or generate scripts as required and may be asked to oversee a team of writers.Essential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesCreative Marketing Development

Write and create copy for product-related marketing and sales collateral, retail communication, email and online merchandising assets, and corporate documents

Develop creative writing to sell a variety of products and services

Develop and implement copy that supports the Clients’ objectives

Work closely with Creative Directors, ACDs, and Art Directors to develop messaging that works best within a layout or program

Brainstorming

Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop ideas into program executions, offering innovative concepts

Project Management

Manage and organize multiple jobs and projects on a daily basis

Take ownership of certain projects and delegate/supervise as needed

Participate in “triangle calls” at the outset of a project to ensure a full understanding of the requirements of the given project/assignment

Work within program/project budgets and identify cost-savings and revenue-building areas

Keep team members, supervisors, clients informed of all relevant issues as they arise

May generate scripts for internal client meetings, as well as video concepts and scripts used for corporate videos produced by and for IN or any Company affiliate

Team Lead

Mentor interns, juniors, and copywriters, leading by example and offering guidance when appropriate

May be asked to manage other writers to ensure team meets all copy deadlines and assure work fits within the branding strategy and target audiences of each client

Monitor cultural trends to make sure the messages the team produce are relevant and appropriate

Presentation

Present work to direct Supervisor, Client Service team, and the Client as required

Customer/ Client Relations

Build strong internal relationships with Field Marketing, Account Services, and the Production department teams

Participate in new business efforts

Minimum QualificationsThe following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the jobEducation Level: (Required) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experienceField of Study/Area of Experience: English, Journalism, Marketing, Mass Communications or equivalent job-related experience

5+ years of experience in either an ad agency or marketing firm, or within a corporate advertising department (strong portfolio of professional and/or speculative creative work required with examples of writing/thinking to demonstrate abilities)
