Job Description

We are seeking a Data Engineer for a direct hire/permanent role in Englewood, CO. This role will be onsite in the Englewood area and will be joining a growing Enterprise Data Team! In this role, you will establish and maintainhigh-quality data models, data infrastructure, and data science capabilities in partnership with the core tech services team and business analyst teams. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the Business Analytics team to implement, deploy, and maintain PowerBI datasets, reports, and dashboards
  • Design and build reports in PowerBI for other departments
  • Write SQL stored procedures to deliver ad-hoc data requests and present results in a clear manner such as Excel, csv files, PowerBI, and SSRS reports
  • Build relevant ETL pipelines in the data warehouse using SQL Server stored procedures or SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Design and build tabular models in SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) to be consumed by business analysts
  • Process, clean, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Explore and implement modern data warehouse technologies
  • Create maintainable projects with documentation using Bitbucket, JIRA and Confluence
  • Participate in rotating on call schedule to support infrastructure

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience and a BS in Computer Science/ Information Technology OR 7+ years of relative experience
  • 5+ years SQL experience building complex SQL queries and stored procedures
  • 5+ years creating self-service content within Power BI or similar BI tools
  • Experience building tabular data models with SQL Server Analysis Service or similar tools
  • Knowledge of core data warehouse concepts such as ETL, dimensional modeling
  • Fluency in Python with working knowledge of interacting with SQL, pandas and numpy
  • Strong SSAS dimensionalmodeling experience.
  • Foundations in MS SQL Server and MS BI Stack.
  • Loves to program
  • Experience interacting with REST/SOAP APIs
  • AWS experience with S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda, RDS, and EC2
  • Comfortable using source control systems and their associated ecosystems, e.g., Git and Github/Bitbucket
  • Exceptional written, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work on a small team and self-manage
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Nice to have experience:

  • Proficiency with professional software engineering practices; including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations is a plus
  • Experience using the full suite of Microsoft BI tools (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS) is a plus
  • Preferred experience with C# and Python.

Additional Information

This direct hire/permanent role will be located in Englewood, CO. This role will offer a salary range between $100,000- $135,000 per year and a comprehensive benefit package to include insurance (medical, dental, vision, pet, etc.), gym reimbursemnt, matching401k with immediate vesting, and felxible time off ooptions.
