This position is eligible to work in a hybrid work model (combination of in-office and remote days) BE PART OF THE CONNECTION As an Engineering Director on the Core Network team, you will be leading a team of engineers responsible for providing engineering guidance and standards related but not limited to BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, Traffic Engineering, MEF, MAP-T, COS/QOS, WDM, Streaming Telemetry, and Netflow. Develop and maintain product integrity strategies and oversee engineering initiatives including long-term roadmaps, project, and test plan status for Charter's Core network. Support Operations including technical services, service delivery, and network operations. Lead development of testing tool set to greatly enhance the speed, accuracy, and consistency of test plan performance. Manage vendor engagement process for product quality assurance and delivery of feature enhancements. Direct project planning, capital budgeting and assist with business plan development. Ensure a high degree of cross functional communication and participation in line with product deployment and support. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Leads an innovative, collaborative work team to produce exceptional results delivering the customer experience. Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. Oversees the development of engineering solutions to support services including Broadband, Video, Mobile, Voice, and Media in the Core and Backbone networks. Provides engineering support and direction for new technologies. Evaluates and consults with all levels of leadership regarding strategic planning, engineering, and new product development. Align network roadmap to future requirements to make sure the network is able to support all new services and provide proper visibility, controls, and detection capabilities. Lead Proof of Concept (POC) network development, testing, and development of appropriate documentation required for deployment lifecycle. Directs quality control programs with the delivery of engineering solutions. Reviews selections on bids for contracted projects and provide recommendations as necessary. Ensures current procedures and tests are performed in accordance with Federal Communication Commission Standards. Oversees the maintenance of records as required by the Federal Communications Commission and other government agencies. Ensures adherence to company TQA policies. Leads and participates in succession planning. Performs other duties as requested. WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM Required Qualifications

Experience:

Management experience – 7+ years of experience

Engineering experience and/or network operations – 10+ years of experience

Project management experience – 2+ years of experience

Education: Master's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience

Technical Skills: To be completed during/after intake

Skills:

Advanced Knowledge of HFC, Advanced Video, IP Networks, and Telephony

In-depth knowledge of Analog Transmission Line Theory

In-depth knowledge of Electronic theory

In-depth knowledge of Federal Communications Commission regulations

In-depth knowledge of Fiber Optic theory

In-depth knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electric Safety Code

Abilities:

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks

Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure

Ability to supervise and motivate others

Ability to use personal computer and software applications

Travel Ability: Travel as required
