Directo r , Core Imagery

The leader of the Core Imagery organization will be responsible for the Maxar core imagery products. Responsibilities include a leading role in product management, product development, implementation of supporting systems and delivering the resulting core imagery products to customers. The leader will be responsible for defin ing opportunities and balanc ing customer needs with business viability driving results including lifecycle management of the existing product lines, introduction of new products and capabilities , operational and architectural efficiencies, and reduced capital intensity leading to short and long-term revenue growth, EBITDA margin expansion and increased Free Cash Flow .

Responsibilities:

  • Define strategic objectives to grow and mature Core Imagery product s , including customer and market outreach, scaling offerings, product quality enhancements, go-to-market planning, SLA, and KPI development.
  • Establish, align, and communicat e core imagery roadmaps .
  • In partnership with Maxar Labs advance long- and medium-term product innovation, and ensure that Maxar retains and extends its lead in the industry in terms of product quality and accuracy, innovative solutions for high scale processing, and product features.

  • Accelerat e both innovation of new products and the transition of new product offerings to the market .
  • Oversee m anagement of a Scaled Agile Development and Release Train .
  • Build and maintain collaborative partnerships across enterprise to enable mutual success of multiple product lines and on-going programs.
  • Profitably deliver on committed contracts, to include AWS cost management and strong partnership with pricing and deal review teams.
  • Partner with S ales to define annual revenue plan, and align teams as needed to support revenue growth targets.

  • Deliver workforce plan that enables investment areas and operational excellence with advantageous blend of employee, staff augmentation and professional services. Negotiate favorable rates, and skill sets with near-shore and on-shore development.

Other Responsibilities

  • Identify and drive synergies with other M axar organizations .
  • Support technical innovation and lead the creation, continual refinement, and active enforcement of our development standards.

  • Provide thought leadership around transformational opportunities .
  • Manage the budget and forecast for assigned functions including variances in the expenditures, as well as for operational and capital forecast and expense.
  • Manage technology purchases and services provided to multiple internal customers.
  • Create a culture of leadership that support our values and priorities.
  • Provide leadership that teaches, inspires, and promotes employee empowerment and career development.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering , Information Technology, Geospatial Sciences, Physics, or Math required, advanced degree highly preferred .
  • 10+years related work experience .
  • Demonstrated ability to lead other Product Managers and Product Development Engineers.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% .
  • Demonstrated ability to align with business leaders, deliver customer-directed solutions, sustain a 24/7 operational environment, and lead quality initiatives .
  • E xperience in Agile (scaled) software development or other best in class development practices.
  • Strong leadership, management, analytical, and communications skills.
  • Program and project management competency .

  • Custom software engineering, integration, test and verification experience .
  • Experience with Cloud computing.
  • Experience with deeply technical algorithmic processing at scale, ideally within the Geographic Information Systems and geospatial processing domains.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Experience in selecting and managing strategic 3 rd party vendors .

Preferred Requirements

  • Masters and PhD highly preferred.
  • Experience with full product life cycle technical leadership from ideation to general availability to sunset.

Location

  • Position is located in Westminster, Colorado.

The compensation range for a Director Level is $150,000 to $250,000 annually dependent on skills and experience. This position is also eligible for a bonus plan.

The compensation range for a Sr. Director Level is $173,000 to $288,000 annually dependent on skills and experience. This position is also eligible for a bonus plan.
