Geotechnical Engineer – Risk Analyst

The West Region Dams and Reservoirs team of AECOM is actively seeking a motivated, creative, highly talented Geotechnical Engineer with risk analysis experience for employment in the Denver, CO office. The dams and reservoirs team within the Water Business Line is responsible for providing engineering and design services in support of multidisciplinary projects, with a focus on water storage and hydropower dam projects.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Planning, implementing, and managing geotechnical exploration programs, including assigning laboratory testing.Managing and providing technical support for geotechnical analyses such as material characterization, liquefaction, seepage, slope stability, and settlement for water storage and hydropower dams.Preparing geotechnical reports, drawings, and specifications for water storage and hydropower dams.Preparing and presenting technical presentations to project team, clients, and technical review boards.Performing dam safety inspections.Conducting potential failure mode analyses and risk analyses for water storage and hydropower dams, including identifying and developing potential failure modes, serving as recorder, subject matter expert, and/or facilitator in risk analysis workshops, estimating risk, and report documentation.Managing budgets, providing client updates, and performing general project management tasks.Preparing geotechnical risk proposals.
