Snowmaking pipe crew is looking for experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join the team. If you have been operating Heavy Equipment for two years or more and would like to be a part of the team that helps cover our mountain with that Champagne Powder then here is your chance to apply. The ideal candidate must have experience running excavators and loaders in steep terrain.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to work outdoors on uneven often rugged terrain and in inclement weather
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry equipment and materials weighing 60 or more pounds
  • Ability to operate company vehicles/ATVs – Must be able to pass company driving standards
  • Must have ability to sit and concentrate for long periods of time, be aware of surroundings, able to assess the conditions in the physical proximity of the machine while understanding the implications therein

Minimum skills, experience, education and ability required for this job:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous Ductile pipe laying experience preferred
  • Must have experience running excavators and loaders in steep terrain
  • Must be able to adhere to company safety policies and maintain a safe environment for both guests and employees at all times
  • Strong work ethic and ability to handle strenuous work 40 hours a week
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must be able to handle multi-tasking and bring these tasks to completion quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp. Service Excellence standards

Detailed job description, including responsibilities, work performed, tools or equipment used, etc.:

  • The primary purpose of this job is to install new snowmaking pipe on the mountain while following guidelines and best practices
  • Clean, fuel, maintain, and conduct routine inspection of excavation equipment
  • This job will involve the use of shovels, rakes, demo saws, and other common power and non-power tools related to pipe installation and equipment maintenance
  • Must be able to meet or exceed departmental key expectations
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

Miscellaneous information:

  • This is an hourly non-exempt position and is subject to overtime pay
  • This position is required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Steamboat area base hourly pay range: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
