Job Description:
- Builds and implements HL7 interfaces for patient results in VB6 or VB.Net, supporting the customer during a go-live event for HL7 interfaces. Infrequent travel (1-2x per year on average), additional background checks, and off-hours go-live support may be required as part of the role.
- Manage implementation of new medical device interfaces to Laboratory or Hospital Information Systems.
- Manage implementation of new medical device connectivity to target data manager.
- Work directly with customers and vendor partners to write/test/validate HL7 interfacing and to validate receipt of Admit/Discharge/Transfer messages.
- Participate in and host conference calls with customers.
- Install proprietary software, write custom scripting per customer specifications, configure, test, and validate all interfaces.
- Communicate and document project milestones to customers and other project team members.
- Complete all required documentation for each project.
- Follow all standard operating procedures.
- Report software issues as per documented escalation path.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Accountable to provide quality service while maintaining costs and meeting revenue goals.
- Bachelor s degree (CS or any of the core sciences) and 2+ years of relevant experience.
- 2+ years of experience with Visual Basic 6.0\Visual Basic.NET or equivalent object-oriented language.
- Proficient background in medical device integration.
- Knowledge of the HL7 format.
- Familiarity with healthcare IT / EMR systems.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012/2016 and Windows Server 2008/2012/2016.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Skilled at task prioritization and multitasking.
