Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experienceSummary:Coordinates, implements and evaluates the organization's infection prevention and control program.Responsibilities:Performs all the requirements of lower levels of Infection Preventionist as directed by the Manager. Independently performs risk assessments and provides recommendations accordingly, demonstrates proficiency in performing Joint Commission/Regulatory tracers and uses data to formulate action plans partnering with clinical teams Provides preceptor/mentoring to novice infection preventionist or aspiring IPs and serves as SME for an HAI metrics and cluster/outbreak investigations, providing support to fellow team members across region and systemInvestigates, suggests and advocates for ways to improve quality, efficiency and effectiveness. Appropriately analyzes and displays data using basic descriptive statistics, charts, graphs and tables. Independently conducts literature reviews, synthesizes findings and demonstrates ability to use evidence to inform performance improvement interventions.Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.Requirements:
Certified Infection Control
Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Microbiology or Public Health with knowledge of microbiology, infectious diseases and medical terminology, or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Preferred: Master's in Public Health or another healthcare related field.
Certified in Infection Control (CIC) by the Certification Board of Infection Control & Epidemiology (CBIC).
1 year of infection prevention experience. Preferred: 1 year as a hospital infection preventionist.
