The Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) is a professional who coordinates across the Maxar enterprise to implement, operate, and maintain enterprise-wide technical security controls and compliance needs are met across the spectrum of corporate information systems. The ISSE will engineer and validate the auditing tools overseeing information security strategy and provide a high level of security over information system resources while preserving system usability. The ISSE must be able to develop and implement flexible security solutions that meet the needs of a hybrid government/commercial and international business environment. The ISSE must be a results-oriented person who can achieve tangible improvements in the data security arena. The ISSE must be familiar with cloud technologies as well as traditional on-prem network security concerns. Excellent technical and communications skills are a must. This position will work out of our Westminster, CO office but candidates with a preference for our Longmont, CO location will be considered.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support the overall enterprise strategy and process for information security, technology risk management, and compliance
  • Responsible for architecting, implementing, and monitoring security solutions that ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information and systems
  • Support the development and implementation of policies, standards and guidelines related to information security and compliance
  • Manage the implementation and maintenance of key security technologies and processes including identity and access management, vulnerability assessment and penetration testing of software and hardware, configuration management and change detection, and security event management
  • Assist in the review of applications and/or technology environments during the development or acquisitions process to assure compliance with corporate security policies and directions
  • Evaluate changes to the processing environment for security impact and present findings to management
  • Integrate security controls into a CI/CD pipeline, such as version control and vulnerability management
  • Support system accreditation activities, including the creation of implementation and test plans

Required Skills

This position requires security experience working in a medium to high complexity production environment, as well as extensive experience with public company security compliance management. Additional minimum requirements include:
  • U.S. citizenship
  • 9+ years of related professional experience (or a combination of education and experience, such as 5+ years of professional experience and a Computer Science or similar Bachelor's degree)
  • Existing security clearance (SECRET) is required and the ability to obtain SCI accesses
  • Counter Intelligence Polygraph required after award of SCI accesses
  • CISSP, CASP, or equivalent certification meeting DoD 8570/8140 IASAE requirements
  • Knowledge of key Information Assurance standards such as CNSS, NIST, and ISO 27001

Desired Skills
  • Existing Top Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or industry standard security certifications such as CCSP, CySA+, CHFI, etc.
  • Experience with ICD 503, DCID 6/3, NISPOM and related US Government standards and requirements
  • Familiarity with security best practices such as OWASP Top 10, DISA STIGs, vendor hardening guides, etc.
  • Knowledge of key security technologies including vulnerability assessment testing, IDS/IPS, and SIEM
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies and cloud security best practices
  • Experience with software development processes and tools
  • UNIX/Linux shell scripting, PERL, Python
  • Ability to prepare multiple types of documentation, policies, guides, communications, presentations, etc.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects, appropriately manage expectations, and communicate complex issues in an easy to understand format.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be highly organized
  • Must possess strong analytical skills, flexibility, and be able to work in a team environment

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate's unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is: $84,000.00 - $140,000.00 annually.
