Junior PHP Developer

Job DescriptionJob Title: Jr. PHP Developer Compensation: $45k - $55k per year (based on experience) Location: Colorado Springs, CO Our client is seeking a Junior PHP Developer for an exciting contract to hire opportunity. Full stack programmer with a focus on back-end development to join the team. The ideal candidate should have at least 1 to 2 years of current experience working with PHP and relational databases such as MySQL.

• Some experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Familiarity with different frameworks such as Laravel, Bootstrap, React or VueJS is preferred, but not required.
• Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, would also be helpful.
• We are looking for someone who is eager and able to learn the various technologies we use, as well as have the ability to switch between our legacy programming and the framework set up being used.
• A demonstrated ability to learn and pick up on new technologies quickly could reduce the need for some of the framework familiarity and/or overall programming experience.
• Someone who mainly has WordPress experience is probably not going to have the knowledge and skills we are looking for.

• Analyzing business application requirements
• Writing code, testing and debugging software applications
• Recommending system changes and enhancements
• Documenting software specifications

• 1+ year of hands on PHP experience
• familiarity with SQL
• JavaScript and CSS would be secondary skills
• Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Must understand and conceptualize applications from both a technical/programming perspective and a business point of view.
