Job Description

As our first fulltime laboratory scientist, you will be conducting research on a DNA blood samples, helping us work towards FDA approval for our cancer diagnostics. You have a couple of years of postdoctoral experience in microfluidics, DNA blood sampling, and nucleic acid databases.Your ability to work collaboratively with academics, suppliers and executive leadership, coupled with your dedication to research and microfluid diagnostics, will be the secret to your success. How you’ll be spending your days:

  • Performing precise specimen analysis and reporting results accurately, following established procedures
  • Conducting biological DNA sampling research and assisting in obtaining FDA approval
  • Testing the interaction of synthesized and naturally occurring human plasma DNA with gold surfaces, proteins and antibodies
  • Following procedures to ensure safety, security, quality, and accuracy of results
  • Working and communicating cohesively with the suppliers, professors and company leadership
  • Maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with laboratory policies and CLIA standards

Qualifications

What it takes to succeed in this role:

  • Ph.D. with at least 1 year of postdoctoral experience with a focus on microfluidics and microchemistry
  • Hands-on experience working with biological sampling, nucleic acid database and DNA/cfDNA assays
  • Understanding of proteins and antibodies – ELISA & protein labeling
  • Track record of analyzing data, following and designing a chain of experiments as well as understating the implications of results
  • Intimately familiar with validation of laboratory-developed tests and documentation
  • Ability to work collaboratively with academic and industry contacts incorporating their expertise
  • Inquisitive and analytical mind driven by data yet flexible and open to new methods
  • Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal, with an innate ability to articulate your work in an easily digestible manner
  • Desire to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment conducting research on diagnostics as we approach FDA approval
