This includes roles and permissions, provisioning of users and courses, security, internal system notifications, archiving of courses, and integrations. With the guidance of the Academic Technology Service Manager coordinates the effective implementation and ongoing maintenance of the LMS and all supporting tools, content, and technologies. This includes roles and permissions, provisioning of users and courses, security, internal system notifications, archiving of courses, and integrations.
Implements a long-term plan for the growth and improvement of the LMS based on stakeholder input and leadership input. Maintains a transparent roadmap for future work.
Tests and validates security of new features, tools, and LTIs that integrate into the LMS - including managing requisitions, facilitating and educating vendors, security of LTIs, communication of new features, and accessibility testing/evaluation.
Assists the Academic Technology Services Manager with establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors, including drafting and enforcing Service Level Agreements (SLAs), facilitating and leading collaborative efforts between vendor and campus leads. RE: product road mapping and change delivery, providing leadership and oversight of vendor when escalating and triaging major incidents and performance degradations, managing billing, contract renewal.
Tracks usage of tools and the learning management system features to provide reports on trends and creates and executes a plan to address any issues or trends.
Creates and pulls reports and runs basic API calls, as requested.
Act as secondary LMS technical contact for ICM during unplanned outages.
Establish and maintain relationships with our 24/7 Canvas support, the OIT service desk, academic technology vendors, associated departments, and the academic technology services team.
Canvas Development (20%)
Collaborate with developer resources to manage and build micro applications designed to improve self-service and administration of the LMS (The Wolf).
Act as a consultant for Canvas Data (managing requests, development, design, and delivery of dashboards and data).
Support and Documentation (20%)
Provides help resources and support for students, faculty, and staff including documentation, tier 2 support, training and consultation.
Assists in the communication of new functions, features, or updates to Canvas.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Educational Technology, Teaching, Business, or related field.
1 year of experience supporting an LMS as an LMS administrator or Technical Support Professional- can substitute certificates or coursework related to LMS administration.
Required: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience as a LMS administrator
2+ years of experience as an instructional designer and/or technical academic technology support
Experience working with university faculty in a technical support role
Experience supporting LTI based tools
Knowledge of LTIs, APIs, and OAuth
Experience with instructional design practices and principles
Demonstrated ability to create systems and processes that support effective management of the LMS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Background in educational or instructional design
Experience with vendor management
Application administration
Experience providing training (both in person and written documentation)
Experience with Canvas - knowledge of LTIs, APIs, and OAuth
Experience with Project Management

Salary and Benefits:The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $61,000 to $65,000.The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
